Cheryl's birthay

Had a really advanced birthday celebration for Cheryl. 3 weeks in advance, cause i'm going overseas so i wouldn't be able to celebrate w/ her. The surprise we planned for her took a lot of effort. Probably the most i've done for a friend! PLEASE BE TOUCHED CHERYL BECAUSE IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN AGAIN. We drew arrow signs & stuck them to the ground around her house area so she could follow them to the playground where we tied balloons to the swings & Ashely was hiding in a box w/ cake! I uploaded the videos to my instagram. Anyway, it took a lot of effort in bringing about everything & also making sure that everything was done right. What made matters worse was the extreme heat. Nearly died under the sun, but at least the surprise was a success. Cooled down at Cheryl's place before heading to Botanuc gargens for dinner!

Huixuan's birthday

Celebrated /huixuan's birthday twice! The first time was on her actual birthday when i bought flowers & went down to her school to surprise her w/ Vanessa! After that we had lunch at Holland V & because it was her birthday, we were entitled to purchase a 3L chocolate frappe! It was so damn huge & the three of us couldn't finish it ourselves. Probably meant for 5 people instead. We didn't do much because Huixuan had other lessons to attend. It was a great outing though ^^

The day after, we had a belated celebration w/ the rest of the primary school clique. We had dinner followed by supper & it was great to catch up w/ all of them. It felt nice because we were all together again! Pictures are above, & i was the entertainment highlight of the day because while camwhoring i fell. & they all posted that picture of me falling LOL.

My boring life

The pictures above were taken a while back! Babe invited me to his Mothers' day celebration dinner w/ his family. Thank you :P Just realise i don't actually blog about my life, so recently i started my driving lessons & i am so proud of myself because i thought i had no driving skills & that it would be a train wreck but i was wrong. Turns out, my instructor said i'm quite skilled. LOL. Unfortunately, i've to wait one & a half month before i resume my driving lessons cause i'll be going overseas. Worried cause i'm afraid i may forget how to drive & also because i'm learning parking in my next lesson! Hope everything goes smoothly.

xx

Oblong

Red Velvet Waffle w/ dark chocolate ice cream
Butter & milk waffle w/ cookies & cream ice cream
Matcha waffle w/ Holicks ice cream
Visited Oblong the other day w/ Huixuan. We ordered all three of the waffles available. Do try the red velvet if you ever visit Oblong! It's quite impressive cause there's cream cheese filling in between the waffles. The ice cream's not bad, but the cookies & cream tasted really weird though.

Selfish gene cafe

Stumbled upon Selfish gene cafe w/ Ashely & Cheryl the other day. We were actually looking for another cafe but realised that it wasn't open. We then headed into a cafe nearby but the owner told us they were not ready to serve dinner, & he was nice enough to direct us to Selfish Gene Cafe which happens to be on my list as well!  When we reached there, the cafe was empty because it was almost near closing time. Which was great cause it was quiet & we kind of had the whole place to ourselves. We ordered drinks & 3 slices of cakes, carrot cake, chocolate cake, banana cake which is all the cakes that they offer. My favorite one was the banana cake & cheryl preferred the chocolate one! But i'm not a big fan of chocolates so it wasn't appealing to me. The cakes were about 6 bucks per slice & even though it tasted great, i don't think that it was worth it! Maybe someday i'll head back to try out the food here!

RONIN

Visited Ronin cafe which is located near Clarke quay w/ Cheryl the other day. The street was quiet & it's a great place for photos & probably OOTD shots, but it was drizzling so we headed into the cafe quickly. My first impression of the cafe was that it looked really nice & cozy. The lights were quite dim & the music was rather loud, kind of reminded me of A&F. The decor of the place was nice, unique & really creative.

Ronin cafe is rather "unique" because there's NO signboard, no location details or website & the worst part is that they don't have menus!!! I was quite shocked when the waitress told me they didn't have menus there & then she told us everything they offered there. But because of the music, i couldn't hear the waitress properly even after she repeated herself the second time. So in the end i just ordered the only drink which i managed to catch which was the green tea latte. Cheryl got the iced one & i got the warm one & the price difference was 2 bucks i think. Which is ridiculous & way too expensive for ice. We wanted to order some food but changed our mind & didn't stay for long because the seats were really uncomfortable & after a while, it was just too noisy for me so we ended up leaving!

I guess Ronin cafe isn't all that bad & it's great to go for something light or coffee but i don't think it's possible to stay there & hang out for long. For me, it wasn't worth visiting, but still.. it's on my list!

Hongkong trip part 3

So on our 4th day in Hongkong, we both decided to try out the breakfast at Mcdonalds cause the ads looked so good! But i wish i could say the same for the taste though, looks good but it just tasted like MSG. But okay, at least we got to try it.
After we were done w/ our breakfast, we bought tickets to Ocean Park! Travelling around in Hongkong is really simple cause everything works as Singapore does.
I was shocked by how big Ocean Park is. & i was pretty sad that we didn't manage to go through the whole park, hopefully i get another chance to go back.
I just had to take a picture w/ the mascot :p
Isn't it amazing. So sad that we can never get this in Singapore. :(
We took pictures while waiting in the queue.
Fucking cutest creature ever.
So we got hungry after having fun on some rides, & we walked into this really cool penguin restaurant! The doors were so cool cause the place was like hidden. & we were so surprised when we saw the penguins. Plus the food was great :D
I was feeling really tired after spending so much time playing
We spent our last full day in Hongkong really well. Started off the day having breakfast at Mcdonalds because babe saw the ads for the macaroni breakfast set & so we decided to try it! Though it wasn't great, at least it was something different & not what we have in Singapore. After having our breakfast, we went to 711 to get tickets for Ocean park & then headed off! Travelling around Hongkong is really easy because everything is pretty much similar to Singapore. We took the MTR & then a bus before we arrived at Ocean park. I was so surprised by how big the park was, it's like this whole island. Well, it felt like a whole island to me at least.

After leaving our stuff in the locker, we went to this aquarium thing & then explored the 'first level' of Ocean park. We played w/ this motor boat thing & babe wasted his money cause he couldn't find which one was his boat! Headed up by using the cable car & the view was AMAZING. So thankful that the weather was cooling. We didn't get to take a lot of rides cause we didn't have much time there, only reached there in the afternoon & the park closes early! However, we did manage to see a lot of animals & it was surprisingly fun cause all the animals were really playful so you could actually see them. We spent majority of our time visiting the animals & we took lots of videos. Babe got hungry so we decided to have lunch at a restaurant called penguin tuxedo if i remember correctly. The entrance was so cool cause it's like this 'cave' like door that opens into this 'whole new world' LOL. haha yea, it was that cool & we were so surprised when we saw the penguins exhibit. The food was great, the view was great & the company was even greater. We had some food at the old hongkong street area in ocean park & after, we headed to Mongkok to walk about.

Finally found the place which i wanted to bring babe to. There were lots of food outlets & we had a lot of street snacks & i got my bubble tea! Had dinner at this food outlet & the food was good. Everything about Hongkong is great, maybe it's just because it isn't Singapore, kinda good to be somewhere new even if it's just a while. Headed back to our hotel after buying desserts again.

the end for day 4
